the Best Madrid Wine Bars
We ask ourselves at Native Spanish Tapas what are the best Madrid wine Bars? It’s a complicated question because there an infinite amount of Madrid wine bars, but we are going to limit the options to two important factors: one, that the bar is traditional and not with a modern twist and that the Madrid wine bar must be located inside the city center, taking into account that most travelers that come to Madrid want to stay at the historical city center area, to enjoy some of the best Spanish food, (we highly recommend taking a madrid tapas tour as a great introduction). We are going to give you our best three favorite Madrid wine bars, (in no particular order) so let’s break open a bottle!
– Vinícola Mentridana – San Eugenio, 9 (Antón Martín area)
A very cozy tavern located near the Atocha train station. Not only do they offer a great selection of Spanish wines and vermouths, but they also offer a great selection of Madrid tapas in the form of tostas, which are tapas ingredients placed on a crunchy French style bread.
– Matritum – Cava Alta, 17 (La Latina area)
This Madrid wine bar has yet again another great selection of wines from all over Spain, and they offer little portions of traditional Madrid tapas so you can get a good variety of some of the best Spanish tapas in Madrid. They also have a wine store in cash you want to take some back to the hotelJ
– La Venencia – Echegaray, 7 (Plaza Santa Ana area)
Lastly but not the least of our best Madrid wine bars, located in the beautiful artistic neighborhood of Las Letras, this tavern is the typical Madrid “castizo” tavern, known for its exclusive wines from the southern Spanish region of Jerez. Not to mention again, they have very good Madrid tapas and amazing cheeses.
