Madrid Tapas Tours
Do you want to know what our Madrid Tapas Tours are like? Trip Advisor Reviews ranks Native Spanish Tapas as # 6 of well over 100 activities to do in Madrid, not bad for our 3rd year, the reason is our philosophy: Our Madrid Tapas Tours take you where locals go for some of the best Spanish tapas alongside a fun and dynamic history lesson of Madrid. So let´s continue reading, because we are going to give a brief run-around of what our Spanish tapas tours are like.
Daniel is the founder, half Spanish half American, who takes our customers where his grandmother used to take his mother, his mother used to take his family and where Daniel has been taking all of his American friends and families for the last fifteen years, you can’t get more local than that.
Our first stop takes us to a little tavern near Puerta del Sol that has been proudly making some of the best cod croquetas since 1860: Casa Labra. Daniel’s grandmother used to religiously order these delicious Madrid tapas delicatessens for take away every Saturday for the family aperitif.
Second stop is at the picturesque Plaza Mayor: Muséo de Jamón, this is the only bar in this square that really caters to locals, because they have an excellent price quality relation on cold-cuts and cheeses. Daniel’s mother used to stop by there for a quick Serrano ham sandwich and an ice cold tap beer. The eight month cured Manchego cheese or, queso viejo, is a must there.
Our third and last stop at our Madrid Tapas Tour, is at a restaurant near Plaza Isabel II: Casa Nicassio. It was reformed some years ago giving it a more modern look. Daniel remembers it being somewhat of a hole in the wall until Carlos, the new owner, did a fine refurbishment job on it. Here we indulge on one of the best Madrid paellas in the city center. Not to mention the gazpacho, tortilla or Spanish omelet, chorizo in white wine, the star dish paella, alongside of the best Sangrias in the city center (without Fanta or Sprite please!), we also serve traditional aniseed shots and the original Baileys’s drink, which dates back to Spanish Celtic times.
Join us on one of our many Madrid Tapas Tours just as locals do!
